Strategic Planning and Operational planning



The strategic plan is a statement of specific plans on how to reach into the future direction to be taken by the entity. While strategic planning is the process of deciding which programs will be implemented by the organization and the estimated amount of resources will be allocated to each long-term program for several years into the future. The results of the strategic planning process in the form of a document called a strategic plan that contains information about the programs a few years to come.

Strategic Planning is a management tool used to manage the current conditions to make projections of future conditions, so the strategic plan is a guide which can be used by an organization of current conditions for their work towards 5 to 10 years into the future

Operational planning
Operational planning is derived from tactical planning, has a more narrow focus, shorter durations (less than 1 year) and involves the lower-level management.

I think that we should lalukan is to provide motivation to staff, the meaning of motivation is a process that explains the intensity, direction, and persistence of an individual to achieve his goal. The three main elements in this definition is the intensity, direction, and persistence.



Based on Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory, theory X and Y Douglas McGregor and contemporary theories of motivation, sense of motivation is the underlying reason for an act committed by an individual. Someone said to have high motivation can mean the person has a very strong reason to achieve what he wants to do his current job. In contrast to the motivation in the sense developed in the community who are often equated with the spirit, as an example in conversation "I want my child to have a high motivation". This statement could mean that parents want their children to have a high learning spirit. Thus, it should be understood that there are differences in the use of the term motivation in the community. There are defines motivation as a reason, and there is also the same with the spirit of the motives.


In the relationship between motivation and intensity, the intensity associated with how enterprising person tries, but does not produce high-intensity work performance is satisfactory unless the effort is associated with a direction that benefits the organization. Instead the last element, persistence, a measure of how long a person can maintain his business.

If this does not succeed, we should hold direct talks to the staff to observe so that we can see what problems the staff face it and if we know the problems in dealing with personal problems or problems at the company and we as supervasior should be able to resolve the problem if it personal problem we can ask the people close or we could direct staff to meet the family and asked that the issue at face it. Wherever a problem in our company can ask the other staff who work one part with the staff. Lastly is to give him the added bonus that the staff feel in look and spirit of the staff to be working again

Examples of cases that exist in the hotel

In a hotel must have an organizational structure.

And in the organization there are three management division, namely:

  • Management of first-line, or also called the general manager. In charge and responsible for the smoothness in deparmennya and staff.
Examples are such as supervisors, supervisors, foremen, kasubab, etc. 


  • Middle management, this position one level above the first line management. Who oversees several of the kepalainya deparmen.

  • Top management, this position is the highest position in an organization, in charge of or responsible for the smooth development of suetu hotel.
An example is the general manager.

In an organization there must be a name conflict or cases that arise. Here I will give examples of cases that exist do hotel.
          Inside the hotel staff if there is a problem or make a fuss, the staff would get warning from other staff, if staff is still doing a scene then supervasior will give a warning letter to staff, the position here supervasior can not immediately lay off staff tresebut, because supervasior not have a policy to lay off staff. And if the employee is still no positive change then supervasior kasusn must report this to the department head (middle management) that this case can be processed further, here the middle management have a policy to lay off staff by making observations for the good of the hotel, if the staff needs to be stopped then the head of the department is entitled to lay off staff. In this case the role of general managers (top management) is simply knowing the case, no need to interfere because it has a different policy with the head replaced with Minister (middle management) and this case can be resolved quite up to the head replaced with Minister (middle management).


This is a small example, if a staff member breaking the rules.
 
What if a general manager makes a mistake.??
